CHIRA ONA: COGNITIVE SCIENCE,SYNESTHESIA & COSMOLOGY
Chira Ona is a neurodivergent multidisciplinary artist who focuses on translating deep-space telemetry, cosmological charts, synesthetic experiences, and linguistic codes into minimalist structures on canvas.
Below is a detailed description of her core research domains:
VECTOR 01: THE INTRAPERSONAL VOYAGER PROJECT (Out of the House)
The artist's primary ongoing SciArt project (Official launch date: November 1, 2026).
A long-term, process-based real-time studio performance unfolding as a daily ritual-investigation. The artworks are created by capturing raw interstellar telemetry and data from the NASA Voyager 1 probe, materializing on canvas humanity's fading connection with the spacecraft.
VECTOR 02: VISUALIZATION OF SYNESTHESIA
Conceptual cycle: The Hermeticity of an Individual Universe.
This domain explores the fundamental isolation of the individual—the inherent inability to fully share one's unique perception with another. The method is rooted in Chira Ona’s acoustic-linguistic multimodal synesthesia combined with Ticker-Tape phenomenon. The artist translates linguistic structures (texts or thoughts) onto canvas as black and white blocks according to a specific algorithm, materializing Lacan's signifier-to-signified matheme S/s.
VECTOR 03: COSMOLOGICAL MATRICES
Series: Master Plans of Consciousness
A series built upon the intersection of official NASA astronomical data and research in neuropsychology. The conceptual foundation integrates the cosmic microwave background (CMB) radiation map, the Vazza-Feletti study regarding the fractal identity between the cosmic web and the human brain network, and Jacques Lacan's mathemes. The artworks project the micro-structures of human perception and unconscious processes onto the macro-geometry of stellar maps and cosmological networks.
